The Ultimate Teacher
Where can we find the best teacher for everything we need in our lives? Who out there knows the best way we should live? Is it a priest or preacher? Maybe it’s a self-help guru. Many people can tell you how and what you should do. (I do it for a living!) However, when it boils down to it - who can tell you what is right for you? My answer to this is NO ONE. I don’t care if it’s your parents, spouse, children, or even a saint. No one can tell you how you should live your life. So who is the “Ultimate Teacher” you ask? Who has ALL the answers to my life’s toughest questions? My answer would be, “YOU.” In your DNA exist both the problem and the solution all tied together. When you learn to trust your feelings and fully understand the Law of Attraction you will start becoming the master of your life. Only when you seek advice from within, and understand what it means to do so will you start to have more control over your life. It is my goal in this article to point you in the direction of the “Ultimate Teacher” so that you may experience all of the joys of life.
Why You Are the Ultimate Teacher
I’m sure you’re wondering how this could possibly be true. ‘How is it that I know what is best for me when the world has taught me at an early age that I don’t know any better?’. Well this isn’t something the logical side of your mind is going to get. You will have to feel this out with your emotional side (both sides are equally important, however the emotional side is often neglected in today’s American society).
In the past have you ever been faced with a tough situation, only to be given advice from someone else who seemingly knows what is better for you? When you were given this advice did it resonate with you or did something not feel right? If it didn’t resonate fully with you, did you simply shrug it off as if you should just take what the other person was saying as an ABSOLUTE? When you followed that advice how did things end up? Probably not all that great. Why was this the case? The person who you thought knew what was best for you gave you bad advice? Well no, actually the advice was probably really good. However, the advice that is especially tailored for you can only come from you. Always.
When faced with a situation where you had to make a decision have you ever asked yourself, “Who knows me better than myself?” Have you ever asked yourself, “Well, what do I think is best for myself, and what would I like to see happen in this situation?” These are all powerful questions, and they bring powerful answers. If you learn to trust your feelings you will begin to see that your emotional side will help you solve 99% of your problems. The other 1% which is equally important is Grace, (Grace is what I define as a divine coincidence). Asking yourself questions like those asked above will cause you to naturally start coming up with your own solutions for any situation. At first it might not seem that you are getting anywhere, however in time you will start to see better results with practice.
Self-Worth is Essential
In order for you to trust yourself enough to handle your life, you must recognize your worth. You have to believe that it’s ok to think of yourself as God because you came from God. Think of God as a loving parent who would naturally want you to think highly of yourself. There is nothing wrong with thinking highly of yourself. How could it be bad that you think highly of yourself? Would you be chastised by God in doing so? No! God has better things to do with his/her time than to sit back and take names of those who have done wrong. People who would say different are just people who think they know what is best for you, but would really have you think this way because it makes them feel better. Only you have your best interest at hand at all times. At least until you learn to manifest people who put you first, but even those people will be putting you first because it serves their highest good to do so.
So, when you start to see yourself in a different light you will find listening to yourself a much safer process. Think about it. If you’ve been conditioned to think that your judgment is wrong then how could you ever be connected with your inner-self, the Ultimate Teacher? You’ve been taught that listening to yourself is wrong, and you should take others’ opinions into account. While I agree that sometimes its good to get feedback, I also like to note that some of the greatest successes of our times came from people who only listened to themselves. Does it sound corrupt? On the surface yes, however I like to call that absolute genius.
Knowing When You’re Making the Right Choice
It will always feel good/right inside of you when you’re making the right choice. ALWAYS. You will always feel a sense of peace when you are taking the appropriate action. If it doesn’t feel right then don’t do it. If it feels good either way, then you could go either way and it would be good. If you just don’t feel anything, then just don’t do anything. That’s as basic as it gets. As you begin to listen more to the inner you it will start to translate into more than just basic feelings. You will start to experience a deep knowing on how you should go about any given situation. Just try to live your life doing what feels good and makes sense to you. Both your feelings and logical mind should be aligned with what your doing in order for things to be effective for you. If you only try to do what feels good, you will over extend yourself into territory that makes no sense. Your logical mind will become very fearful and you will be miserable. If you only do what makes sense your emotional side will feel dull and lifeless. It will feel starved for fun, and you’ll be miserable. So try and find a balance with all this. When I tell you to trust yourself and do what feels right for you, I really mean just that! Trust yourself and know that it’s OK to follow your judgment. If you can’t follow your own judgment than who are you really living for? Are you truly living for yourself when you listen to someone else? Or are you following how others should think you should live?
Your Nature is Unique to You
We all have a certain way of being. Deep within you is the life you would like to live, exactly the way you want to live it. You might not know each and every step on how to get there. However that life starts to magically unfold open the more you start to follow the Ultimate Teacher (yourself.) You magically find your way there the more you start to listen to yourself. You will get there in your own special way!
A bird doesn’t come into the world flying right off the bat. However, deep inside its consciousness are the instructions on how to fly. Eventually, once it gets old enough, it begins to flap its wings and fly. This is in the bird’s nature to do so. Human beings are no different. Though we might be a bit more complex, we still function on the same principles of life. Some human beings might not trust themselves enough at first, but eventually they will fly. I remember when I was younger I use to think, “ all I have to do is pray or meditate for what I’d like and it will be provided for me.” I would tell others about this and they would just laugh or say that I was foolish for thinking such a thing. I allowed myself to believe I was foolish, and buried this genius knowing deep inside of me. Later it would emerge again at a critical point in my adult life. I knew after a long journey of trusting others to make choices for me; that I did way better listening to myself. ( And I didn’t hold it against anyone because they were only doing what they thought was best at the time). From there, my life really started to take flight.
Who the Ultimate Teacher Is
I have told you before that the Ultimate Teacher is yourself, and this is true. However in many religions and cultures this Teacher might come across as a separate being, and this is fine too. Some call it your spirit guide, guardian angel, or even God. However, it’s all essentially the same thing. All of this came from the same place. This material your reading, angels, demons, people, and flowers all came from Source (God). This is why the problem is always you, and the solution is always you. As you start to believe in yourself more you will come to find that you are no longer holding yourself separate from greatness. You start to merge with it and/or become it yourself. If it feels better for the time to believe it is separate from you, then keep on the path. Keep on whatever path feels best to you.
Follow The Path That Feels Best
I know I just said this above, but it needs its own section because it bears repeating. This is essentially what it means to follow the Ultimate Teacher. You are on your own path. This is what Jesus meant when he said “don’t follow me” or when Buddha said, “find the Buddha within you.” (The word Buddha means to be awake or enlightened). You must do what feels right and makes sense to you. Only than will you be living for yourself, and be truly happy. You will then be living a life others can follow by example.
This doesn’t mean you don’t have to take other people’s opinions into account. Actually, I highly recommend you do this where you can. However, now you will only take advice that resonates with you. You will trust your heart, and if it feels right and makes sense you’ll act on it. Why would you ever act on something that didn’t feel right or make sense? Because someone said it’s best for you? You would just be living for that person and not yourself. Now when you listen to others you will be doing it from a place of power. Taking what they say into consideration, but not considering it an absolute for your life. This is the difference from being someone who is stubborn to being the Ultimate Teacher of your life.
Conclusion
Being the Ultimate Teacher is a journey and a very fun and rewarding journey at that. You start to reach higher levels in your life the more you put it into practice. Only you have your best intent for yourself at all times, so only you can point yourself in the best direction! It seems crazy at first but what I’d like to stress is even your best-intentioned loved ones cannot help you like you can help yourself. It’s still always wise to accept help, however only accept it when it resonates with you. If it doesn’t resonate with you than don’t take it. Just stick to your path. Be the Buddha and Jesus of your life. What is in them is within us all. We help make this world a better place as we travel through this wonderful journey we call life!
