How to Increase Your Energy Levels
In today’s time you need a lot of energy to get all the things you want done completed. If you’re an at-home mom or the provider for your family this is something I’m sure is very important to you. Even if you’re a college student, energy is something that needs to be ready in order to meet all your needs. Unfortunately, most Americans have low energy levels due to a number of reasons. I could go on and on about why most Americans have such low energy levels, however, I’m here to give you some simple advice that will help boost yours. In this simple guide you’ll see the simple changes necessary to get higher energy levels. (If you are or think you are suffering from some kind of disease that cause your energy levels to be low, make sure you consult your doctor first. This information is not to be used as a cure or treatment.)
It sounds almost too simple, but for a lot of people this can make or break your energy levels. When you sleep a lot of things take place. Your body repairs itself, and your soul is able to recharge itself as well. Certain key immune functions take place while you sleep that can only take place while you sleep. If you have a random sleep schedule I highly recommend that you start trying to set a normal sleep schedule and sticking to it. I recommend sometime around or a little before 10pm. Why before 10pm? Your body activates particular immune functions around the time of 12am while you sleep. If you aren’t asleep around the time of 12am your body misses this prime immune function.
If you’re having troubles going to sleep at first- don’t fret! If you haven’t been on a normal sleep schedule for a while it may take some time before you can get adjusted to a normal sleep schedule. I’m not a strong advocate of sleep aids; however, I do recommend sleep aid teas. I have been known to use them here and there when trying to get myself to bed for an important event in the morning.
Also, if you’ve been missing out on a lot of sleep for awhile you may need to catch up on your sleep. If you find yourself constantly fatigued you may want to go ahead and allow yourself to take a nap. Allow your body to get the necessary rest it deserves. After a while you should notice that you don’t need all the extra sleep, because you’ll be caught up. It’s an amazing thing, but many doctors are starting to notice how more and more American’s are acquiring “sleep debt.” The only way to pay it off is to sleep it off!
I know you’ve probably heard this one all the time! However this is probably just as important as sleeping well, if not more. Did you know that it takes a tremendous amount of energy to move crappy foods out your body? Complex carbohydrates will definitely slow your body down one way or another if that’s the majority of what you’re eating. Most American diets consist of high fat and carbohydrates, which are lacking the nutrients necessary for high energy levels.
If you really want to kick your energy into high gear start eating more fruits and vegetables. Really turn this into a lifestyle change. Don’t just go to the grocery store and buy them. Get cookbooks at the bookstore and learn how to prepare vegetarian and vegan dishes. You don’t have to become a vegetarian or vegan, however try and make an honest attempt to incorporate more veggies and fruits into your diet.
A nutritionist is also a good way to go too. I know everyone may not have the money to start with a nutritionist, but it’s an extremely great way to go if you do. These guys can tell you exactly what your body needs, and what you should be eating. You could probably find a much faster turn around in your energy levels than you could have on your own following their advice.
A lot of people don’t look here when trying to solve their low energy troubles. Yet the things that stress us out are probably one of the biggest energy drains. I’ve come to find through my study of people and myself that when we focus on negative thoughts our energy levels start to rapidly deplete themselves. It’s as if the things that stress us out become “black holes” and sap us dry.
Minimizing your stress can be a lot easier than you might imagine. If you find yourself stressing out about something go ahead and come up with a solution for the problem. Even if you have to just make it up. Your mind will run with the solution you give it if you just go ahead and give it an answer when you start to worry. The mind usually keeps on worrying until it has been given some kind of answer. Once answered it will quiet down.
Another suggestion for minimizing your stress is to meditate. You can get a lot of results simply by meditating. There are a lot of great books out there on the subject of meditation. You can also browse the web on Google.com and type in “meditation.” Tons of websites on this subject should come up. When you meditate effectively you will naturally elevate your consciousness above the problems you were in. You will literally be putting yourself on higher ground, and trust me that is a much more peaceful place to be. Through meditation you will find yourself coming to rapid solutions for your stressors and problems. You will find your energy levels start to soar as you come up with these solutions, because solutions are much more empowering thoughts.
Of course if this is a chronic problem for you, I highly suggest consulting your doctor. You may have a more serious condition that requires medical treatment. There are also all kinds of things out there that can help boost your energy levels I haven’t even addressed like acupuncture, working out, homeopathic medicine, chiropractic treatment, and much more. The advice here can have a big impact, however I always suggest trying out new things as well. Good luck!
