How to: Have Clear Skin

Everybody loves clear skin, and having it can be a challenge especially- if you don’t know how to go about it. I myself struggled with skin issues for the longest time before I came to some simple approaches that cleared it up tremendously. This guide is for people who have mild acne.

If you do happen to have chronic acne you may still find some results with some of the approaches I recommend here; however, I strongly recommend you consult a dermatologist for their professional advice.

Drink Lots of Water
Drinking plenty of water has been known to have lots of health benefits. One of the cosmetic benefits that can come from drinking water is clearer skin. Water has the ability to detox the body, and as the body starts to detox itself the toxins that caused hormone imbalances are no longer present. (Or at least less active.) Water is also an essential part of the body that is used for cellular function. These cellular functions govern things like your immune system. (Your immune system plays a part in healing acne scars.) Water also causes your skin to become more supple because it hydrates the body.

If you would like to start including more water in your day, I advise replacing your meal drinks with water. With every meal you have just have a glass of water beside you instead of soda pop. If you are like most people, you will find this change a little tough to stick with at first, however if you can stick with it, you should start to see improvements. If plain water just doesn’t do it for you- try switching to flavored watered. Avoid carbonated water, however. Make sure it’s simply flavored, and nothing else.

Wash your face gently
Washing your face every morning and night is very important to having clear skin. I’ve come to find that most people however wash their face too harshly. If you scrub your face extremely hard every day you may be irritating the pimples that are on your skin. This irritation can cause them to become worse and even spread over the facial area. The type of cleansers you use can cause your skin and pimples to become irritated too. Try to find a cleanser that uses a gentle soap. When you do find your cleanser make sure you gently wipe your face with it. Avoid using a wash cloth to wash your face as it is usually too irritating to the skin. The time it takes to wash your face should be around 2 minutes or so. Leaving the water on any longer could possible start to cause excessive drying.

Use Benzoyl Peroxide
Benzoyl peroxide is a topical treatment cream you can get over the counter for cheap, however the results are extremely beneficial. Benzoyl peroxide causes pimples to get oxidized on contact. Bacteria cannot survive in the presence of oxygen for very long. The result is vanishing pimples. When it’s applied to areas that are pimple prone you will notice that the pimples either don’t show up at all or will be very minimal. Benzoyl peroxide should be applied after the face has been given some time to dry after washing.

Moisturize Properly
After washing your face and then applying the benzoyl peroxide, moisturizing is the last step. While it may be the last step, it is probably one of the most important. You want to make sure you moisturize after every wash, and if you’re going out during the day, make sure the moisturizer contains an SPF of at least 15. The SPF will keep your face looking young. The moisturizer itself will also keep your skin supple. Yet the most important thing the correct moisturizer will do for you is prevent more acne. A good moisturizer can prevent certain acne from forming on your skin because it will keep dead skin cells from getting stuck in your pores. These dead skin cells will no longer have any room to fall in, and clog your skin. A lot of people wonder why they have so much acne and oftentimes it’s not even the bacteria, it’s just the dead skin cells that keep flaking off and clogging up pores.

Exercise
Did you ever wonder why athletes have such clear skin? The reason for that is simple. It’s because they sweat a lot. Human sweat contains ingredients that help kill surface bacteria. If you can start working up a good sweat everyday, you’ll be surprised at the results you get. Make sure you have gently washed your face before and after working out however. You wouldn’t want all that moisturizer and benzoyl peroxide to run off your face.

Eat more Veggies
Vegetables contain a ton of nutrients that are important to the well-being of the entire body. With the right amount everyday you should start noticing a difference in your skin. The nutrients from the vegetables will help balance out the hormones, and detoxify the body. You should just feel a lot better sense of well being as well.

Colonics
A colonic is a process where a tube is inserted up the rectum and debris are washed away within the walls of the colon. Many benefits are supposed to be derived from having a colonic here and there throughout the year. One of the biggest cosmetic benefits is clearer skin. A lot of people have been utilizing them for years just for that. I don’t know too much on it since I haven’t had one yet, but a lot of people I know highly recommend them.

Conclusion
The journey to flawless skin takes time and study on each individual’s part. One of the quicker routes is finding a dermatologist if you can afford it. They have more advanced procedures and solutions that can help you along. I still recommend getting to the root of the problem however. Most all natural health practitioners will agree that acne is a cause of a series of imbalances in the human body. Once everything is placed back into balance the skin will return to its naturally clear state.
