How to: Five steps to more money!
Making money can be a whole lot easier than you might have ever imagined. Just like with anything in life, it takes being a little bit more open to what’s out there in the realm of money. This article is designed to stimulate you and get your juices going with some practical and impractical advice revolving around money. If you can follow these steps consistently you may find yourself blown away in the next few months or even weeks.
Step #1: Believe money can fall from trees.
A few years back when I quit my day job, and became self-employed I started to change my belief system on money. I started to realize that the rich and poor have two totally different perspectives on money. I decided to start thinking more like the rich, and eventually started to rise above middle class. It really does start with your beliefs first, and it’s as simple as talking yourself into it.
You know that old saying, “You get what you believe in?” Well, it’s true. The Law of Attraction states that we get exactly what we put out into the Universe through our thoughts. If you find yourself constantly believing that money is difficult to have, and that it takes money to make money, you will see your life reflect that. On the other hand if you can start to cultivate a mindset that money can be easily made, and even be handed to you, the Universe will start to paint a better life for you.
Here is what you do:
Take 30 minutes out of your day to just tell yourself, “Money is always in my life. It comes to me easily.” Just do this for 30 minutes. You can do it for more if you like. After some time your mind will start to believe the statement you are feeding it and then it will start to act upon it. You will be blown away at what starts to show up. Remember just allow yourself to be open. All you have to do is turn that statement into your little mantra. Try it!
Step #2: Do what you love and only when you love it.
When I started my journey as being self-employed it was a no brainer for me to do what I love. Since I had practiced Step #1, it was easy for me to believe that I could easily become wealthy doing anything I love. So I ended up becoming a spiritual counselor and later on created ezragardener.net. I was loving what I was doing and when I found myself the least bit drained I just took a step back to relax. After resting or rejuvenating myself through meditation I would jump back in. I would often take many relaxing breaks to quench my soul, and this was a big key to my success. When I would come back to work, I would find the quality of my work to be much better and more effective.
It can be tempting to pick a career or business that seems extremely lucrative, but I warn you to rethink this. Even if you do manage to start making some money you may find it difficult to keep it going. If you aren’t doing what you love you’ll find that you will have no passion. Passion is like a fuel that comes from the Universe and flows through you. We can only access this type of energy while doing something we are in love with. Instead of picking the business based on how lucrative it seems, try and pick something you can really have fun with. Make sure you go back and practice Step #1 A WHOLE LOT. If you can get a handle on Step #1 you will find this step very easy. By the time you are ready to really start doing something new you will make your choice based on what “you’d love to do” instead what you think you “should do.”
Here is what you do:
Figuring out what you’d like to do as a new career or business is easy. All you have to do is sit down in a quiet place and ask yourself, “If I had all the money in the world right now. What would I be doing on a daily basis that would be fun?” You may have to ask yourself this question several times. The answers you come up with will be what you were meant to do! It’s that easy, and if you practiced Step #1 long enough you will feel that this is something that can be done.
Step #3: Be your own boss.
I totally work for myself right now, and I have to say it’s the best feeling in the world. I’m making all my own money and I get to set all of my own time. It’s the ultimate level of freedom most of us strive for. While having a high paying job can be great, I highly recommend eventually becoming your own boss. The type of freedom that comes in doing so is out of this world. By being your own boss your level of success is totally dependent upon you. All of the control ends up being in your hands.
Step #4: Understand it’s not the money you want but the stuff that money brings.
I get a lot of clients who tell me that they have been trying to visualize the money, however they still end up with nothing. When this happens I point out to them that they are missing the point. As human beings we are always seeking more freedom and expression. Money can serve as a means to achieving those things, but the money itself is not the end result. Most us are just looking for a higher quality of life. The money is not the important factor. If you’re going to spend your time doing a lot of visualizing than make sure it’s on the things you’d really like: the new home, car, vacation and whatever. If you focus on those things you’ll be blown away at the money that starts to show up to make it happen.
Step #5: Believe in your value.
When I was working my old job (factory labor) I was working a night shift. The hours were tough and the work was physically demanding. One day during the Christmas season (when things usually got really chaotic due to the nature of the business) I found myself deep in thought. I found myself saying, “There has to be a better way to life than this.” One day during the Christmas week of 2006 I was answered by a voice in my head. It said, “Yes Ezra there is a better way to life than this. Tell yourself everyday that you have an extreme value, and you will be paid in accordance.” When I heard this voice I was shocked. However- I took the advice. (I still to this day don’t know who that voice was, but I’m glad I listened! ) Everyday I would talk highly of myself. Sometimes I would say it out loud or sometimes just in my head. It really didn’t matter so long as I shot my self-worth up there as high as I could. I wasn’t practicing conceit, because a conceited person thinks they are better than someone. All I was doing is simply saying wonderful things about ME! There is a big difference. What I started to see was people started to see the value in me that I was proclaiming I had in my mind. It was if I had to define my value FIRST before others were going to see it. I was truly amazed.
Here’s what you do to believe in yourself better:
If you really want to put this last step into action it’s very important to understand that YOU are setting the value for yourself as if it’s a divine fact. You are no longer using anything outside of you to justify why you are so valuable. So don’t try to look for anything that would prove your value. Instead of trying to prove your value with things outside of you, go ahead and proclaim your divine value as if it’s an absolute FACT. From there you can tell yourself whatever you like. Just make sure you are speaking highly of yourself. Also, you can never shoot your self-worth up too high. Anybody who deeply loves you would want you to deeply love yourself too. People who tell you otherwise are either attempting to control you or lack the ability to understand what you’re doing because they don’t have a deep love for themselves. Just keep at it and you’ll see lots of people treating you differently and you’ll ironically start making money as you will most likely receive a promotion or be able to charge more for services you offer.
Conclusion: Of course there are many other approaches to making more money. These are just a few of my favorites. Anyone who tries them will be pleasantly surprised at the results they get. Remember to keep your mind open and try to utilize Step #1 & Step #5 often! Enjoy & good luck!
